Since 2001, United States has been involved fighting Taliban and other terrorist groups with the aim to provide a peaceful nation for Afghans. However, the active presence of different terrorist groups in various provinces of Afghanistan states suggests that the U.S. mission to bring peace to Afghans has been unsuccessful. For Afghanistan to be peaceful, the cooperation with United States is vital. In this paper, I investigate why it is necessary for Afghans to have a supportive ally like the United States and why the presence of the U.S. troops is fundamental in this critical situation. Furthermore, I also analyze how the U.S. government could assist in the fight against corruption in Afghanistan, offer support to the Afghan government to fight the Taliban, and finally bringing the Taliban into peace negotiation through the Pakistani government.. I conclude that if the United States government does not have a clear foreign and military strategy toward the war in Afghanistan, the war will cause the civilians to be the continues sacrifice and humanitarian crisis will once rise again.
