The nutritional practices that occur in collegiate wrestling have been a topic of discussion due to the risks associated with weight cutting methods. The purpose of this study was (1) to research nutritional habits, (2) body weight fluctuations, (3) rate of perceived exertion (RPE) in collegiate wrestlers, and to educate the wrestlers about safe dietary practices. 8 collegiate male wrestlers tracked nutritional intake over the course of two weeks using the MyFitnessPal smartphone application while recording weight and RPE manually. A comparison of the day before a meet and the meet day looked at differences in nutritional intake, as well as fatigue and RPE.
